Today we drove over the Rockies. I saw them off in the distance and they looked a little intimidating. I told Katie we were going over the mountains and she thought there would probably be a road to take. Thankfully she was right. I thought the drive would be harder than it was but the climb was pretty gradual so it wasn't bad. It was raining a little and that made it a little scarier. I think I may get some new windshield wipers. I only crossed the double yellow line a couple times though (just kidding). We had fun going through the long tunnels through the mountains, the kids thought that was pretty neat. We also liked seeing the Colorado river as we crossed over it again and again.
When we were almost to Denver we stopped and saw some dinosaur tracks. They use charcoal to make the dinosaur tracks stand out more. We also learned about the footprints and that the fronds made ripples you can see in the rocks. They said that this whole area used to be covered in water, millions of years ago but I couldn't quite convince Katie of it.
The kids got to climb a wall with dinosaur prints on it. And who knew dinosaurs could be so colorful?
Tonight my brother made us some tacos and I had some wine. I feel much better. I don't even have to sleep next to a kid tonight so I won't get kicked. Yay!
